I am attending Oregon State's Ecampus. I found myself thinking in the beginning how difficult it would be for someone who succeeds better in-person, but that was not an option. As I continued on, I found myself impressed with the setup of the program and how communicative and hands on the professors were to work on ensuring that you weren't stranded in the online world. Not to mention I lost this university in general and was beyond excited when I got into the College of Busines!
Taking courses online can be tough as it is. Having a platform that is simple to use like Canvas is ideal to have when taking online courses. Canvas has anything and everything you could need to be successful including a messaging system to contact professors or classmates. The professors are usually very good at messaging or emailing back at a respectful time. Considering a lot of students that are taking courses online work part or full time jobs, we need the flexibility of the online schedule. You do the work when you can before the due dates, you do not have to attend an actual class or online meeting. The professors are also very understanding and great with extensions when needed. Overall, Oregon State University provides a great learning system through their online campus.
The professors and classes themselves have been great overall. They're challenging, have a good amount of homework and project work, and have reasonable (albeit challenging) deadlines and grading. All of that said, the accessibility of TAs and Professors could be improved a little for the online aspect.
Overall, the school and program as a whole are great and I would recommend to most students interested.
