Oregon Health & Science University Reviews
Online school can be challenging compared to being in person, but our professors do a great job of keeping all of us engaged in our learning and making sure community is still at the core of our learning. We are in small clinical groups and those are the students and professor that we meet with at least once a week to discuss clinical skills and assignments. Classes also meet online once a week to go over content and have a discussion. Meeting on Webex is the closest thing we get to being in person and it allows students to spend time communicating with professors and students in each class.
OHSU is a beautiful school with wonderful instructors, who want to see you succeed. I feel at home when I attend classes and I know I can count on the instructors and my peers to help get me through the day. The curriculum is an even balance between homework, studying, and having time for a mental health break. Since, starting the nursing program, I have had the opportunity to work with the public and learn through those experiences what a nurse should be. Working in the community, teaches you compassion and understanding. This gives you a unique perspective into someone’s life and guides your knowledge and compassion for the best treatment possible for this patient.
Being a student at Oregon Health & Science University has been a great experience. I have met amazing students and facility, who have been a part of my success as a nursing student. As challenging as classes have been with Covid, our professors have handled it with patience and grace, making the change doable.
