I love attending OSU-OKC. The staff and professors are vary helpful. I was nervous about attending college and failing, but the atmosphere at OSU has taught me to never give up on my dream. I think that this college is great for anyone who is interested in a smaller college and who does not want to live on campus. The college has also made online classes easy to access and so many classes are available online at your convenience. The school advisor's are also amazing at answering any questions you could have. They are never in a hurry to rush you out the door. If you are thinking about attending, I do not think you would regret it!
As a student government senator, intern for brand management, as well as a full time student, I get a lot of insight as to what happens as a student and as a university employee. The biggest issue I see here is accessability. Issues with things such as handicapped doors not working for long periods of time or the busses that only run up until 6pm at night, completely excluding grad students who have night classes. Also, as an issue with any other university, parking. Our parking lots are outrageous. Over sold passes and incorrectly allocated lots causes students to have to park far from campus in order to find a spot, leading them to walk 15-20 minutes, usually by themselves at night. On the otherhand, I love my univeristy. There is truly a place for everyone, as well as an extremely involved facilty. The staff of this University truly care about our mental health and well being as students.
So far OSU-OKC has been really useful as a stepping stone for my college education. I have only done online so far because I was busy studying at a trade school as well, but the experience has been really fruitful in helping me understand what college is like. I think the coursework is simple, although challenging in the best way possible. It is really expanding my horizons and testing my abilities as a student, person, and potentially, as a future educator. I would say the online experience has exceeded my expectations on how accessible it is, especially with how easily you can communicate with your professors. That was what I was most worried about when choosing online courses, but OSU-OKC makes the best of it.
