Ohio University Reviews
Review Ohio University
I absolutely love Ohio University. The campus is beautiful with all the hills and greenery. I lived in the new dorms and had a wonderful experience. All of the dorms have their advantages, though! The dining halls have a good selection of both healthy items and items to splurge on and I like that there are 3 different dining halls to choose from. Jefferson Market has just opened which is awesome! It has sushi, fresh-squeezed juices and a deli to name a few things. The classes are a good size and most of the professors are interesting and helpful! There are so many clubs/activities to get involved in depending on what your interests are. There are always social activities going on - free sporting events, fests throughout the year, and a lively bar scene. The students all seem friendly to one another and I have been able to make many new friends this year!
Ohio University offers plenty of housing for students on and off campus. On campus housing consists of dorms for two students and a meal plan. Off campus housing is either one bedroom apartments or large houses for 3-6 roommates. I looked into housing options and found that living off campus is much easier on the wallet, especially if you don't have your parents paying for everything. Buying food from the grocery store is much cheaper than a meal plan as well. If you don't want to live close to the weekend parties or if you have a significant other who would be waiting for you at home, there are other housing options not affiliated with the university that are affordable as well! They offer single bedroom apartments and even 2-3 bedroom houses at a reasonable cost!
This is my first semester at Ohio University and so far I've enjoyed every second of school. I love my professors and my classmates are friendly and they make me feel welcome. The walks in between classes are a breeze thanks to the beautiful scenery here on campus. I've taken full advantage of the student study sessions in math and they are really helping. Diverse is probably the best word to describe the students here at OU. Not only can you notice a difference in ethnicity but also in interest and age. If I could change anything, I would have started school here in the Fall of 2014 after finishing high school instead of waiting this long to experience such an amazing school!
