In my opinion, Northwood has many things that it needs to improve. I transferred after my first semester, as I knew right away it was not for me. After getting a new food supplier, the food is still very poor. Socially, going to Northwood is like going to high school. The social atmosphere is very similar to a high school's, and that could be caused by its small size. I enjoyed my professors, but not much else. You will not get the full "college experience" if you go to Northwood. It's very quiet, and there is not much to do on the weekends. Most students will go home or visit a friend at a different school, and for good reason. Some students may desire a small school with a quiet atmosphere, but as for me and many other students, I find it very boring. Personally, I would not recommend Northwood to someone who is looking to attend a legitimate university and get that full feeling.
Review Northwood University - Midland
Northwood University is a private, not-for-profit business school. My time here has served me well as I have learned from a multitude of things from not only school, but life itself. I chose this school because of one man by the name of Dr. Preston James IV, former head of the Entertainment, Sports, and Promotions Management program. His view on how the class should be talk was like none other, basically putting aside the textbook and bringing on real experience for us colleagues to obtain knowledge. I envied that. However, it was a sad day for us students when he told us he was transferring to another university down south. Student life is a bit different since our size is relatively small. Sporting events are never sell out crowds or hype games. Student life has many opportunities for students to join clubs and I have been able to do so as well. Things could be better, but I've enjoyed my time here.
I like the small campus size. It really allows you to know a lot of the people on campus. Northwood is what you make it so it has the potential to be very boring, but also has the potential to be a whole lot of fun!
