I couldn't wait to share my experience with everyone! I was amazed by the excellent communication and thoughtful attention to every last detail from beginning to end. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel appreciated as a student and welcomed. With calming music playing in the background and a tastefully designed room, the ambiance was welcoming. My expectations were significantly exceeded by the quality of the goods or services provided; it was obvious that only the best components were put to use. The addition of additional diversity to their goods is the one item, though, that I would most like to see changed. Don't get me wrong, they offer excellent service as it is, but I think adding more items to their repertoire could appeal to a larger audience.
So far, I’ve enjoyed my time at NKU. All my teachers are kind and understanding, and you can tell they have a strong passion for what they’re teaching. I’ve made many friends in my short two weeks so far, and I look forward to all the memories I’ll be making there. They are so many places and ways to ask for help or guidance, with no judgement! The only complaint so far would have to be the Art building (SOTA) getting repairs done while we’re in class. We were told the construction should have been done during summer, but wasn’t. It’s really distracting, especially when I’m in a class such as Art History. I understand the construction needs to be done, I just feel their are not opportune times to do it. I’m paying for my education, I expect to get the most out of it, and I don’t feel like I am. Regardless, there are so many fun activities, there’s always something to do!
I love this school! I transferred in to NKU after spending sometime at the University of Cincinnati, where I was miserable. They didn't mandate a bunch of health checks and things like that when I applied and started going there. I love the professors, the opportunities they provide their students, and the community the campus builds. One thing I think this school needs to change is the way they address situations and safety concerns that happen, especially to girls, and the need for disciplinary actions for those who assault others on campus grounds. There have been times when concerns have been brought to the campus security and all they really do is file the issue. No one tries to fix the these situations, or take disciplinary action against the people who are responsible. I think if these students were punished, or even expelled from school depending on the degree of the assault, then things like this wouldn't keep happening. Other than that, it's a good school!
