Northeast Community College Reviews
Rating 3.93 out of 5 401 reviews
I attended Northeast Community College's College Center in my hometown. I absolutely loved every single one of my teachers. They were very personable and helpful. Class sizes were small and I built relationships with all of my classmates. Northeast classes offer a variety of different people from a multitude of backgrounds and ages to contribute to the classroom discussions. This opened my eyes to so many other viewpoints. This being said my admissions counselor was not as helpful as I had hoped for. Although I feel my teachers prepared me for the furthering of my education, my admissions advisor did not prepare me for the continuation of my educational career. Thus, going on to pursue my bachelor's, I am behind in some areas. All in all, I definitely recommend Northeast to everyone looking for a college education. I feel it was the best decision I made coming out of high school. This college offered me an affordable education and good memories in the two years that I attended.
Northeast is welcoming and didn't make me feel like an outsider. I was given many wonderful opportunities. I made great friendships with my peers and even with some of the employees. I was involved whenever I could be and was able to break out of my shell. I was comfortable talking to new people. Last summer I was given the opportunity to work there for a week to help out with new student registration and was able to stay in the dorms for that week which was great because I've never gotten the experience of staying on campus. I was part of the TRIO program which was nice because I was given several opportunities to go on trips with some of my peers, it helped me create friendships with new and old friends. I was able to go zip-lining, a hockey game, and top golf, those are only a few of the trips we went on. The classes are small which helps me communicate with my professors better, I felt seen everyone knew me by my name. I had a great helpful advisor who was able to guide me.
The faculty was very connected to the students. I never felt looked over in any class or by any advisors or other faculty. The faculty really works as a team to put in their absolute best effort to set students up for success. The campus has a very strong community feel to it. There is a friendly face wherever you go. This is a great college for transitioning from high school to college life. Most notably, they offer an immense amount of support for a variety of struggles students may face both in academics and outside of academic life.
