I studied nursing at this college. Taking the basic classes such as anatomy and psychology went super smooth, and the instructors were super eager to help out in any way possible. That’s about as good as it gets though. Upon starting the nursing program here, I quickly realized that the entire program is just a “suggestion” so to speak. Schedules are not definitive. Instructors do not try to accommodate students trying to maintain a work life balance. Many of the nursing instructors are extremely unprofessional, and I’ve personally heard them make comments regarding other students ethnicity and how it will impact their success. The environment is unwelcoming, and these instructors do nothing to encourage student success. I had a classmate who had a relative pass away, who was told if she missed a presentation from a guest speaker, she would fail the course. There are so many other awful incidents that have happened. Just do yourself a favor and stay away.
As a freshman, I have had an excellent experience at Northeast the past semester. My instructors have been excellent, in fact, I will continue on in their other courses this semester; the classes are offered in a flexible manner to fit any schedule; and overall, they strive to make it an enjoyable and safe place for students to earn a broad spectrum of degrees. I look forward to continuing with Northeast Alabama Community College this semester!
The staff at Northeast is extremely helpful if it it your first time on campus! They will help you with anything you need such as admissions or books for your classes. If you decide to go to Northeast, it is a good atmosphere everyone.
