I moved to New Mexico back in 2011 and had looked at a few of the schools here to complete my Bachelors. I had dropped years ago to take care of my elder mother. It was really tough and I was her end of life caregiver. I moved to Santa Fe to grieve
I'm now a senior at NMSU and am enjoying the curriculum to the fullest. I have wonderful teachers and great choices for classes!
I'm online so I can't review the campus itself but the online environment is great and works well for me. But I am very tech savvy so that is why it's so easy.
I am happy that they had classes that I like and that I can also take all my general education online as well.
I'm taking gender studies, math, and just a few other required courses so that I may complete my time here.
Thank you for this opportunity to review my campus to enter in the scholarship opportunity.
I am hoping to complete my last year with NMSU and continue on to getting my masters degree.
Thank you Thank you Thank you!!!

NMSU has really wide range of degree plans and resources. Tuitions is relatively cheap. The Engineering programs are excellent.
The people there are very friendly, as a freshman it was good. Financial processing however is slow. Campus is somewhat safe. Housing is terrible in maintence. Diverisity is mostly hispanics, with some anglos and african americans. Open to promoting more diveristy and inclusion of LGBTQ community. Also not as flexible scheduling or programs as it could be unless you're local. Opportunities are based on departmental advisors rather than general advisors. Still a growing school however very friendly environment.
NMSU so far has exceeded my expectations in terms of the overall experience. There are opportunities around just about every corner including but not limited to clubs, contests and extra credit opportunities with most professors. Probably one of the only things I would like to see improved as of now is the structure of the website. Truth be told, I've found it very difficult to navigate which is a big problem for me and many others I'm sure, as it's one of the only ways to access financial details and other such things.
My time at NMSU has been well-rounded as well as interesting. The professors and advisors have always been willing to help all students with any issues they are faced with. I think the only downfall is the lack of diversity in professors. So far, in my college education, 90% of my professors have been Caucasian males or females. An extremely small number of professors have been of a different races and ethnicity.
More support towards international students, most of the job opportunities are only focus for US persons even though in the university are a lot of international students
The school has such a warm and welcoming vibe and it feels like home. The campus is beautiful and genuinely makes me feel safe. All the professors are very helpful and you can tell they care about their students. Being an aggie is the best thing ever!
Most of the professors at NMSU are compassionate and understanding while still challenging their students. My professors have pushed me to pursue certain experiences that I never considered, and it is because of their encouragement that my resume is stronger and my skills are more refined.
However, the university as a whole offers no real support for its students. We lack a reliable career center, hardly any opportunities for experiential learning, and a lack of diversity in its academics. My degree plan (English) is very underdeveloped and I do not feel I am learning as much as I could be at a different university. The campus is also run down and there is never anywhere to park.

The many aspects that I liked about NMSU, is the vibrancy the institution brings as far as to culture, food and the positive energy the campus brings. Although this is my second year in college, NMSU offers a variety of opportunity's as far as to extra circular activities and many to do on campus, it's never a dull moment. the atmosphere is great, your surrounded by so many trees when I walk to class, I can say for being the first generation out of my family to go to college it has been a great experience.
The most remarkable quality that New Mexico State University has is its return on investment due to the low prices of tuition.
I am currently a senior in high school and applied to New Mexico State University. The application was easy to fill out and it didn't take long to fill out. I heard back from the admissions office within a day!
The supportive community of university faculty and the sense of home that this campus provides. From friendly students to helpful students, this university can give you everything that you would ever want in a college and then some. I love everything about New Mexico State University!
Great Dual Credit program for High School Juniors and Seniors! I love the opportunity to attend classes both in person and online.
As an out of state student, I love the dynamic campus. Its very beautiful. I love how welcoming the campus and staff were.
Overall I would say that New Mexico State University was the best decision I made. It has what I need to be successful in the pursuit of my career. Not much I could really think about changing as it is a community that wants to you to succeed and does everything they can to help you get there and feel that you are part.
They have been extremely welcoming, and they listen to my wants and needs to help me with my goals, and future career
