Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture Reviews
I am a Veterinary Technology major and NCTA has an excellent hands on program! We have so many excellent resources at our disposal here that it makes learning fun and much easier. A great example is when you learn Anatomy & Physiology you don't just learn out of a book. There is an entire lab full of bones from various different animals that we are able to look at and study to be able to learn the material better! Anatomy is very important when considering any career in medicine! We are also very blessed to have live animals right on campus. As Veterinary Technology students we have the joy and privilege to be able to care for all our animals here on campus. We are extremely blessed to be able to learn how to care for not just dogs and cats but also horses, birds, cattle, pigs, and countless exotics! There is never a dull moment here at NCTA because there is always an animal we can bond with and learn more about! It feels like a close knit family here. We all work together to provide the best care for our animals and are grateful because they give us such great learning experiences. We also have the opportunity to learn how to take x-rays. We have several different x-ray machines that we can practice on. We even learn how to manually develop our films! The Vet Tech program is here is so incredible! I moved all the way from the East Coast just to participate in this incredible program and it is definitely worth it! Besides the Vet Tech program the dining on campus is excellent. The housing is also very nice. We even get to do our laundry for FREE! We have three computer labs on campus along with computers in each of the dorms. We can even print for free! The professors are excellent and the whole staff is incredibly friendly! It's such a family like community that you come to know all the staff members on campus. All in all it's a wonderful place to be!
I mentioned great aspects of the Veterinary Technology program on an earlier page. The Vet Tech program definitely takes a lot of time, dedication and hard work. It is all well worth it though. As part of our program we complete an internship anywhere of our choosing. We have amazing facilities here at NCTA! In addition the facilities I already mentioned we have a surgery suite and recovery room. We also have rooms specifically for labs and dissection. On top of that we have housing facilities for all of our animals.
It is in a small town which is nice for people who don’t want a big city. All of the teachers are very kind and helpful. They offer a lot of good Agriculture degrees.
