Although Navajo Technical University is located in a remote area, it has many advantages to attending here. The cost of the education is a big draw for those students who need to take that route. The campus has an excellent library, Biology center, great security, and the food is prepped quite excellent. The main entrance is heavily guarded and temperatures and identification is checked every single time. The library has an enormous collection of Native American history books to choose from. The aid this university offers to it's students is top notch. It has a great many resources for those that actively seek it out. The athletics department is also excellent with a former NFL player heading the program. It also has a transportation program available for those needing it from distant communities. As of right now, I think the only thing I would like to see change is having more accredited/qualified instructors come to the university to head different programs.
It is close to home, affordable, and the staff makes the process easier. There are dormitories provided and dining meal plans. Small classes so things are explained better by professors and more time to clarify things that you do not understand. You do not need thousands of dollars to attend school her and FAFSA really covered most of the cost of school. There are weight rooms, and gyms and study areas for the students use. The trades program give hands on experience inside and outside of the classroom, so you can get an experience of what it is like to work in the field. The staff have been following COVID 19 guidelines and are working together to keep everyone who attends campus safe. The area is clean and there are even hiking trails for students, not to mention the student activities to help students get through midterms and finals. The community is nice though In the middle of no where it is a great change if you do not want to be stuck in the city. It is an excellent school.
Navajo Tech has many programs to choose from Associate Degree and Bachelors Degree. Navajo Tech University has all STEM and STEAM program and an Innovation Collaboration tagged with supporting Intellectual property for their students when they choose to begin their Small Business toward Entrepreneurship. This is what excites me. Additional, Navajo Technical College is now known as Navajo Technical University which enlightens my goal when I made the commitment to complete studies in Environmental Science & Natural Resource, Chemical Engineering and Geographic Information System which I have. Now, I have an additional goal to complete the Industrial Engineering Program toward a Bachelors degree near Home Area.
