My experience with National University has been overall good. It is convenient with my full time work schedule and taking classes online has not been a challenge for me. I appreciate that they offer both, online and in-class experiences. The academic advisors have been a little disorganized but the one that I have now is great. However, I feel that it is way too expensive for the quality of education. If I had the time to go through a tradition university for a fraction of the price, I would!
Review Your College
They need to inform students applying for the online B.A. General Studies program that not all of the Concentrations listed are available online for this online program. One has to choose two Concentrations from the list for this program, there needs to be an asterisk next to the ones that are not available online for this online program, with an asterisk at the bottom saying: "these Concentrations are not available online for this online program." The two I chose that are not available online are: Natural Science and Environmental Studies. I therefore completed six classes at this university and transferred to another regionally accredited, non-profit, distance learning college. Lastly at least one of the Academic Advisors at this university is very neglectful. (This university might could score a "B" but for me it was a "C".)
Most people see that you're enrolled in a private school and the first thing they think of is the cost, and why even bother paying that much for your education. At National University, I have never felt more comfortable with my decision to attend a private school. I've had some the best professors that have a genuine love for their job, and really care about their students. There are multiple resources available for almost any kind of issue. And hey, free parking and free printing. Worth every penny.
