Mt. Hood Community College Reviews
Rating 3.78 out of 5 627 reviews
Warm and accepting community. Campus is always hosting community events and activities, and the entire environment is very friendly-neighborhood-esque. The arts programs' and trade programs' instructors really know their stuff! The professors and classrooms are all very professional and high-standards, though some of the facilities are smaller due to the community nature of the college. I felt the credits I received were accurate reflections of how much I learned. I took a fiction class here, and I feel that some of my best story writings came out of that course.
I appreciate quality education, diversity, and networking opportunities at MHCC. I value personal growth and access to resources like the STEP program which has been a big help for me in trying to navigate through my current financial difficulties in life. My concerns include the cost of education. Improving financial aid and or providing students with more access to free educational material would be a big help for financially struggling students.
I felt supported by the administrative staff and advisors. I appreciated that the advisor helped me research and verify requirements at universities programs I possibly wanted to transfer to. They do have some awful professors mixed in with the fantastic ones, so it’s good to check rate my professor but there are plenty of very good instructors to choose from. Nice campus with ample parking, I just wish the coffee shop came back (Covid killed business too much hopefully they’ll come back).
