Moraine Valley is a great school to transfer from; it's inexpensive, has great facilities, a variety of classes offered throughout the day, and a (mostly) great group of professors. There is an Involvement Culture (not a party school), but you do have to know people and be an extrovert to enjoy it. Classes and campus are very crowded and you'll hear everyone say parking is a huge problem! Definitely recommend going there, though.
I love MVCC. This is my second year here and the professors I have had are awesome. It's local, affordable and a flexible way to go to school and have a job or two. Very easy to pick classes, transfer, and advisers are always willing to help. Technology and facilities have improved over recent years. It's a great and smart way to start your college education!
My experience at Moraine has been great in many ways but could be better in some areas. I love that my commute to school is only 10-15 minutes away. Working with teachers and students is very helpful for my academics and I am able to get ahold of my teacher easily. I'm thankful to be working in small classes where I can get to know my teacher so they can help me when I need. I think that Moraine needs a new system for parking because in some buildings, there are absolutely no parking spaces and that causes an issue for many students. Also, I feel that there should be more help from academic advisors with choosing the right classes for the students desired major and school they'll transfer to. It's hard for new college students to figure these things out right away. Overall, Moraine has been a fine experience but I can't wait to transfer to a bigger school with more opportunity for me.
