Moraine Valley Community College Reviews
Although my first semester at Moraine Valley has been online, most of my professors have been helpful and want me to succeed! At the beginning of the semester, I was on the tennis team. All of the players and my coach were very kind and welcoming. I could not have asked for a better team or warmer welcome. I am struggling in some classes, but my professors have reached out to me to give me the help I need and are giving me their advice on what to do next.
I attended moraine for one semester and my experience there was pretty welcoming. I've previously attended Iowa state university and the only different i believe between the two is, Iowa states staff/professor were more helpful and understanding. Moraine valley seemed to treat students as if they were still in high school in my opinion. Counselors would not build relationships with students and professors had more and stricter rules. For example: In Iowa state professors would say "if any wants to pay attention they can, and if you don't want to thats your grade on the line' but at moraine it was like " You guys have to pay attention and you can't just walk out or you will be dropped from class". I know my explanation might be quite childish but in my opinion i feel like college students should be responsible for their own actions and should not be treated as if they were in high school.
My experience has been unbelievably great. The professors are amazing and there are so many resources! The campus is always clean and there are so many fun activities you can get involved in. If you get out of class early there is always something going on! My personal favorite was the meditation Monday’s! The amount of support I have received from Moraine Valley is great! From helping me pick out my classes to now graduating! These 2 years have been one of the best years. I have met so many kind people and I will truly miss everyone and everything at Moraine. Go Cyclones!
