An excellent school! Great professors, student body, and very nice environment! Building on its long tradition of excellence in liberal arts and professional education, as well as its historic focus on academic and leadership development for women, Mississippi University for Women will continue to be a university that prepares both women and men for successful lives by providing a high-quality education in a personalized learning environment.
My first year at the W was amazing! They have some of the best professors, who are willing to help you. They also have many different programs . They have a great library with many different resources I used it a lot this semester. Not to mention the amazing advisor they have which is good to have in college. They build a lot for their program but not as much for the students who live on campus. Their dorms on the south side of campus where freshman and sophomore’s live are horrible. They’re extremely old and some rooms even have mold. They are also over priced. For old dorms like that it should be less than 1,200 to live in them . They are also not kept up well. Another thing they don’t have enough scholarships for upperclassmen. Most of their scholarships are for transferring students and upcoming freshman. Which I think is unfair to the students who have been attending their. But overall I think it’s a great school education wise, with a great community everyone is so nice.
From my experience, I have just applied and have yet to even enroll in classes, unfortunately, due to my FAFSA EFC showing I may have to pay out of pocket for my classes until I add my debt for student loans and at this time, that's just not a feasible option for my family and I. As far as what I would like to see changed isn't on the school's behalf because they have been very informative and beneficial in assisting with Financial Aid Review and ensuring I'm informed on each every step of the Admissions process so, keep up the stupendous work MUW!
