The 1st year was okay. Only thing I have to say was my advisor was not very helpful. My 1st and 2nd semester I took all the classes I needed to take for my major. Then it came down to scheduling classes for the fall semester of 2022. I noticed my advisor was putting me in classes I didn’t need to take and when I asked about it he said, “ I didn’t want you to take certain classes here because they aren’t like the classes at the university, and i wouldn’t want you taking them again.” It was the end of the semester so I had to rush last minute to quickly try and transfer to a university. I had problems with the applications fees and other things and asked my advisor about it. I drove 30 minutes to the school just for him not to look at it. So I went home and figured out how to do it myself. The whole entire transfer process I had no help and eventually figured everything out myself within little time. long story short I didn’t get the help I needed. I still appreciate his honesty.
Middlesex Community College is a wonderful college that is preparatory for further education as well as offers certificate and career programs. I am continuing onto UConn from here and was a member of the PTK Honors Society during my attendance. The Professors were great, the scheduling of classes could be better.
I have taken 20 different classes at Middlesex Community College. I have had several wonderful instructors. Many of them are down to earth and understand how to teach. Some instructors do not seem to produce their own media/powerpoint that goes along with the text. It looks like the company produced it and the professors didn't even post ancillary videos supporting it. Overall, I have few major complaints as I am trying to get through this degree rapidly.
