Growing up in Michigan you could say that my whole family was Michigan State fans, we watched all the basketball and football games, and attended the women's basketball games throughout my childhood. So when it came to picking colleges in my heart I knew it was right for me, and I'm glad that I made that choice. I am currently going to be entering my last year in college, and I think what stands out to me the most about MSU is the sense of community, and diversity; we have one of the best study aboard programs in the nation and knowing that I could go anywhere in the country or the world and find alumni from MSU is unbelievable. I have and will always reccomend Michigan State not just because of the environment, the professors, and academic opportunites, but because of the spartan experience, I love it here and I hope you do too. Go Green!
Review Michigan State University
Michigan State is actually everything it's cracked up to be. Amazing school, outstanding faculty and so many opportunities to do what you love. There is never a time where you are not offered chanced to occupy your time, whether it be joining a club, or campus group, taking classes, or meeting new faces at campus events. The cafeterias are gourmet and filled with many options including gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian options. The off campus life is also always filled with fun activities from going to see a concert, or broadway show at the Wharton Theater, to going to a local bar and getting drinks with friends. You will have an excellent experience here, no matter what your interests may be!
MSU had been my dream school for many years, so when I finally moved in on August 28 I immediately felt at home.
The courses I've taken thus far as well as the professors I've spoken with have been excellent.
The diversity is awesome. I've made friends with people from all over the world just on my floor alone.
Campus is large enough to feel like its own city, yet once you've adapted, it's not difficult to call it home. I learned my way around after walking to classes and dining halls for the first two weeks.
The only true cons at MSU are the service from the Financial Aid and Registar's offices and the safety. I've heard many rape cases are not properly handled, and this is clearly illustrated by Googling "MSU sexual assault." They're making an effort by adding workshops and web seminars for students to participate in, so hopefully the campus is safer for both men and women in the future.
Overall, Michigan State is an exemplary school and I'm glad I decided to attend. Go Green!
