Miami University Reviews
Review Miami University
I love this school and everything it has to offer! There are so many opportunities available to students if they take the initiative! Staff and administration always do their best to help the students and always want them to achieve their best to the fullest potential! I am giving the school four stars because of location. It is located pretty much in the middle of nowhere, therefore students resort to the more popular activities such as binge drinking and drugs. While many don't engage in these activities, this school has a reputation of intense binge drinking and drug use.
I have loved my experience at Miami University. The buildings, the professors, the activities and the friends I have made have made this the best experience of my life so far. The reason I did not give it five stars is becuase my counselor did not give me the best scheduling advise from the beginning. I knew at freshman orientation that I was going to be a Chemisty major with a dental concentration. By the end of sophomore year I was missing one Physics class that I will have to complete in the summer. Miami University does offer amazing studying abroad opportunities. I am looking forward to two weeks in Italy this summer studying Chemistry!
Having previously attended Miami for the Fall 2014-Spring 2015 school year, it was a lot to take in transitioning from a suburban high school to a university that's more or less in the middle of nowhere. The campus is absolutely breath-taking, the food is pretty diverse, and not a day goes by when there's NOT something going on, whether it's sports related, guest speakers, or performing arts. Regarding the students, a majority of them are actually pretty nice...preppy nonetheless, but nice. The campus is a lot bigger than I expected, so it was relatively easy to get my exercise for the day by simply walking to all of my classes! The professors are very passionate about their subjects, which they rightfully should be, and are more than willing to aid students whenever possible. Even when I was hospitalized for the majority of the Spring 2015 semester, my professors were more than willing to send me coursework and get me caught up. Although I ultimately had to take a Medical Leave of Absence from school, I would say that my experience at Miami thus far has exceeded my expectations, and my goal is to return for the Fall 2016-Spring 2017 school year and continue to get acquainted with the Code of Love & Honor and all things Miami.
