Merced College Reviews
Merced College is a great 2 year college to start your career. It is centrally located in Merced. There is a transit system (bus) and a lot of things in walking distance from the college. The counselors that help you choose your classes are very helpful in leading you in the direction for you future career choice. I am planning on becoming a nurse, and was going to take a MA program elsewhere when my counselor let me know that Merced College offers the same program for a lot less! I was originally going to schedule a summer school course when she asked my future plans. I am so glad we had this conversation and that she wanted to make sure I was on track for my future career goal. I was so excited to find this information about the MA program and Merced College and will be starting this program in the fall.
The teachers at Merced College are great! Smaller classes allow you to engage more with your professor and gives you a better understanding of what is going on within the class. It is very easy to register for classes and the counselors work quickly and efficiently to make sure every student is succeeding. Taking classes at Merced College is a great way to prepare for when you plan to transfer. One thing I wish would change is the number of classes offered. The classes fill up quite quickly, and I feel that making more classes would allow for every student to take the exact classes they need.
I like Merced College because they offer a lot for undergraduates. Not only can undergraduates earn their Associates's degree and graduate high school at the same time, but you can also get that college experience at this community college. I was able to learn that learning and staying in school depends on you. You have to be responsible for yourself and your actions. If you are struggling in one of your classes, Merced College offers free tutoring for anyone who needs help with homework or preparing for an upcoming exam. About 99% of these professors are lenient with student-athletes and their schedules.
