Career aspects in this town aren't great bit outside that the prospects are endless..

I intend to eventually own my own salon after the internship of course and work experience is gained for financial help as well so I can start a business. Getting this certification is crucial to do that and has been and will be extremely beneficial in my life and my daughters! Without furthering my education I cannot provide what she needs or wants and this is the best option.
Review Mayland Community College
Preffered Ms Wanda Norton over Ms.Tina Ensor. She gives bad grades without reason. Seeing I had done something multiple times still gave me a zero bc she argued about it. Not approachable at all or as helpful. Mrs.Norton showed she cared about our success and actually taught us New things. Mrs.Ensor doesn't she just expects us to work on our own and know what to do already. She has taught one subject but we had already learns it last semester&Me.Wanda had to show the advanced girls things as we beginners learnedthem because they hadn't been shown anything

Like acrylics. Beginners were more experienced with them than the advanced students. We started in our book in a completely wrong place. Should learn the basics of services before performing them or while learning to,not after already performing them. I hoped Mrs Wanda would move to advanced with us but they made her the nail tech instructor instead. I also disagree with the attendance policy....we have "four" absences allowed.excused or not.doesn't matter.and thwy count each class (2 a day). So really you only get two days you can miss period, or you fail. We shouldatleast get the full four days. Or if excused it not be used against you. Some things are impossible to reschedule or miss. I understand the importance of attendance but that's a bit extreme. I also disagree with having to clock in and out just to take your ten minute or 30min lunch breaks. It takes a few minutes just to walk to your car and back in

You barely have enough time to eat much less smoke if you do. And we aren't allowed to leave campus at lunch
Because Mayland is a community college, there are no Bachelor's or Master's programs available that I know of, but Associate's programs and several varieties of certificates from cosmetology to Electronics Engineering. The professors that I personally had as instructors were very knowledgeable about the material. The workload was quite heavy throughout most of each semester, but it kept me interested and kept class topics in my head almost constantly. Many students that had transferred from large universities back to Mayland Community College informed me that the work load and difficulty of classes at Mayland by far outweighed the previous college they had attended. Mayland's professors and curriculum required much more of students than many other nearby state universities and colleges according to those transfer students.
