The only online classes I have taken through MTC were unplanned and frantically put together because of COVID-19. However, despite the last minute adjustments and switch over to online midway through the spring semester of 2020, my experience was overall positive and the best that could be made of the unexpected situation! We were able to have class via web cam conferences, take our exams monitored online, complete assignments, study successfully, and learn/review material that was crucial to the course. I prefer seated in-person courses, but that is just my personal preference. Other than my minimal experience with online classes, I know that Marion Technical College offers many online courses for Accounting, Business, IT, Healthcare , and so many other programs!
Online courses were all easy and not super time consuming. This is the place to go if you want your degree in a timely manner at a low cost. They have so many resources and most of the textbooks you could find for free online. The only thing that isn't the best is the area. Sure there are things to do but if you are from a city, this place is going to feel small. I would recommend taking your courses online to help give you some free time aswell!
The staff at Marion Technical College have provided me with several resources that have been helpful to me both in my education and in my personal life. The campus offers a free food pantry for all students and there are staff members committed to helping you with other needs as well. While my experience has been overall pleasant, there are some minor suggestions I could make. I believe inclusion and diversity could be encouraged more widely across campus. The only other suggestion I have would be better internet connection and computers for students to use.
