I started my college years during the covid pandemic. It was hard to adjust, the class of 2024 did not experience the typical freshman college experience. With all of this going on, my years here at LSU have been great! The campus is beautiful, and for the 2021-22 school year, I was able to get the college experience I missed during my freshman year. The 2022-23 school year will be my third year at LSU, and I’m excited to be back on campus. The classes are tough, but there are many free resources provided to help students with tutoring and studying. Overall, my experience with LSU is great considering the circumstances.
LSU is a very interesting university. It may seem very nice from the outside however it can be very difficult once you are on campus. As a Hispanic girl, I find it hard to feel welcomed in most places across campus. There is little to no diversity however campus can be enjoyable if you enjoy alone time. You can find great friends here, you may just have to look a little harder. Classes are mostly always decently sized and you can find good professors to create great connections with. It's really important to stay connected within your school and your counselors, as this will make your process much smoother. Enjoy your time and go out as much as you can! Create a decent balance with your school/social life.
Oh how I love LSU! Louisiana State University has become my home away from home. With excellent academic opportunities as well as a school culture you will find no where else, LSU cannot be beat. Between the academic opportunities, extracurricular activities, greek life, and sporting events this school will forever have a place in my heart.
