Los Medanos College Reviews
Despite the little time I have left to myself, I love being involved with my school! I'm in the Honor's Club, and have been volunteering my time in many different ways, all inspired by the amazing professors this school has provided. As a returning student, I was afraid to take harder classes, but after speaking with several staff members I've actually been very interested in many of the subjects I had once been avoiding! The counselors and staff here have been very helpful in every aspect of my developing in this community college, and wouldn't trade the amazing experience for a 4 year university's education because I am a stronger student transferring as I am now.
I like LMC for it's independence and goal-oriented educational system. The classes are very diverse in ethnic groups and ages of the students. The students support each other when need be. I think LMC could work on the pricing of books, materials, parking permits, and food quality and prices. Parking is a nightmare unless you get to the campus at the right moment. The one thing that LMC really needs to work on is the student life. Sport events, studying abroad, Honor roll, Transfer Academy (etc) is only really accessible if you know about it, because LMC is not the best at getting information and opportunities to their students. The campus is always clean and very good with safety within the campus and the parking lot. LMC is a wonderful community college to enroll if you are looking for a 2 year college.
Going to Los Medanos straight out of high school was the best decision I made for my self. I learned more about my self in the past two years. I learned that i enjoy working with others by being a tutor for puente, so I picked to be a sociology major. Also, I enjoyed the amazing learning community Puente. They helped me develop into a honor roll student. As well as making connections with my peers that will last forever. Los Medanos has amazing staff that go above and beyond for me to reach my goals.
