Pierce College is not only one of the highest ranking community colleges in the Los Angeles Community College District, but also has the highest transfer rates into 4 year universities in the district. Also, it is the largest campus in the LACCD, thanks to its Agricultural and Veterinary programs, and Nature reserve.
As far as academics are concerned, Pierce College has managed to hire some pretty prestigious professors, like Dr. John Prothero, who writes textbooks on Geography, and has been on a few science TV shows.
Over all, my experience at Pierce was very good. I had no trouble transferring. I would say that I came out a very well rounded Junior level Geography major. Saying that, Pierce College's Geography department is probably the largest and best in the LACCD as well. They actually have a GIS lab!
