Review L.E. Fletcher Technical Community College
I went to a large university right out of high school to pursue my dream of becoming a nurse. Due to family issues I never got to finish getting my degree. Almost 15 years later I applied at Fletcher to finish what I started. I absolutely love this school. The classes are a lot smaller in size than the university, which allows for better learning. The teachers are approachable and are always willing to give extra help. Fletcher has a free adult learning resource center that offers free tutoring. There are many resources to students that help in succeeding. I would recommend Fletcher to anyone, especially non traditional students like myself.
I love the RN program at Fletcher. The classes are tough, but with a lot of hard work and dedication it will pay off. They only pick the top 20 highest GPA and HESI scores for the program once a year. Many students apply and it would be nice if they could take more students once a year or take 20 students twice a year since it's a huge program for Fletcher. The teachers are really great in classroom and clinical setting. Mrs. Adams is super smart and is very good at explaining hard to understand information in a way that is not confusing and easy to understand. She is always available to answer any questions or give extra help if asked. Clinical experiences have been great, I've learned a lot and feel confident and competent in the hospital setting.
I would choose to go to Fletcher again if I had to do it all over again. My first semester when I took remedial algebra with Mr. Baxter and I passed I knew this was the school for me. Unlike the other school I went to, Fletcher offered Pearson mathlab which really helped me to succeed, along with extra help from my teacher, and free tutoring in the ALRC. My grade jumped 3 letter grades from my old school to Fletcher. With a lot of hard work I was successful in every other math course after that. It was almost as if something in my head just clicked and frustration turned into a positive "I can do this" attitude. My other school had no resources like this, and if you didn't understand the information in class or fell behind that's where you were doomed to stay and eventually end up repeating the course.
