Have had nothing but issues with the financial aid offices. Every single person that works there has an attitude. When I attempted to ask questions I was treated like I was dumb and told to go look them up in a book. As a financial aid counselor your job is to answer any questions I have. My fafsa has taken over two weeks to process. Everytime I go to talk to a counselor I wait about an hour while they sit around eating chips and “blueberry pie”. (This is an actual experience I’ve had there) Upon going to the Dean, I was told this behavior is okay because “they work long hours”. My solution to this problem would be to stop eating snacks all day and maybe to work, as my tuition pays for their salary. Once again, this is a common problem. Every single time I have gone into the financial aid office I have been belittled. I been having to much Missed communication on this school with their staff on admission office.

LSCPA has given me an great college experience, the instructors have been inventive and adaptive especially during the COVID-19 out break, in order to still provide a awesome learning experience. I look forward to continuing my education here.
My overall experience with Lamar State College Port Arthur is great! I chose to attend a local community college, straight out of high school because it was closer to home and I am more aware of my surroundings since I started co-enrollment here. I love the professors because they aren't lenient by any means, but most try to work with the schedule we have because they also understand life sometimes has complications.
