I am Music Education Major. The music program is out of this world! Very talented and professional groups with many opportunities. I am part of both of the two jazz bands and they both are performing at levels that many other collegiate bands couldn't get to. The student's that are involved with music are all very supportive and make a great impact on others, it feels like a family. Aside from the music department, it has many other added benefits. For example, the dining halls have recently been renovated to everything is up to date. Some people picture college and not so good food together but the school offers a large variety of meals to choose from, not to mention that one of the dining hall's is open all day and night! Getting midnight waffles with friends is alway's an experience. At the university you aren't just a number in a classroom, you are able to make a name for yourself and mold your future.
Kutztown University's biology department puts a strong focus on hands-on lab experience and direct education. Each classroom size is small, allowing all PhD professors access to and time for close interaction with each student. This personal classroom experience helps foster positive relationships between the dedicated faculty and each student, which helps ease the learning process exponentially. Campus life is active and thriving and the small-town feel is a comfort for students away from home for the first time. Off-campus apartments are plentiful, everything is conveniently within walking distance for students, and Allentown, Reading, and Philadelphia are a fairly close drive for any greater needs.
Kutztown's Career Development Center is excellent. They are very helpful with anything you are in need of. They will help with resumes, interviewing, internships, connections, anything! There are lots of job fairs held at KU, and events that bring back alumni for networking.
