This college, for being a regional campus, is stellar, as are the rest as components of Kent State I have noticed. They certainly have stellar professors employed beneath them and show no bias on hiring whatsoever, and this also goes for the rest of their staff. Never did I think that I would feel so supported, loved, or looked after during my college experience via faculty alone. They have especially pulled through during Covid times, making sure to go above and beyond as far as virtual events, still making it known that anyone is welcome, and they can show vulnerability. They have expressed relief efforts and monetary supplement continuously through grants, scholarships, and Covid packages to enable their students to get through in trying times.
My experience with Kent state University, specifically the Trumbull branch has been and continues to be great. the availability and assistance from the faculty, staff and advisers makes everything very convenient. The engagement from the instructors and professors allows students to build relationships and understand the course content clearly. the classrooms are well maintain and clean. its a smaller community at the Trumbull branch which allows for a smooth transition into the college experience.
I have certainly learned to humanize my professors greatly. All of them have been widely understanding in a vast pool of circumstances, and have managed to show their flexibility for whatever else this year has to throw at us. Extended due dates, primarily for tests, have really been useful in order to prioritize my time better and to include some extensive self care practices which have been much needed in these times. We are all human, and I feel as though my professors have pushed this statement in order to make us know we are included in that, mistakes happen, and the transition is not exactly preferable for everyone. We all have a lot to get through yet with this virus as well as how to do this in the most helpful manner possible to ensure we are all still getting what we need from our learning enviroments.
