I took a few courses online. The online courses I took were fairly easy to understand. One of my online course that I took was public speaking. Unfortunately I did not have enough people to watch me during my speech. Kennebec Valley was able to put together enough people to watch my speech and help me pass my class.
Kennebec valley community college always had plenty of people who were willing to help with anything you needed. Weather it was transportation, food, housing and most importantly, your education, Kennebec Valley Community College had someone who was willing to help you with anything you needed.
I have had the privilege of being at a University, a private college and now many years later I find myself at Kennebec Valley community College and all I can say is why didn’t I just start here in the beginning. Staff are super about their students, and they’ve handled the Pandemic amazingly . All in all they have made my returning to school seamless!
We switched to bright space at the beginning of the semester and with very minor glitches here and there but overall it’s been great!
Great staff and teachers! Everyone is willing to go above and beyond to make sure you succeed. Also every understanding of certain situations and most everyone being working adults. Definitely recommend for those not knowing where to go or needing extra.
I always get responses back from faculty via email or phone calls. I have people who are willing to work with me. And with having an education during the pandemic my teachers and the other KVCC staff made transitioning to that a little easier and were understanding and helpful.
I have teachers that are committed to the students and their education. I have people who understand the toughness that can be receiving a college education, plus the faculty is there to help and makes that clear. I am surrounded by students who all are there for an education, not because they feel like they had to go to college.
The professors are always available to help, which made my online experience very smooth and successful!
I enjoyed my time at KVCC so much, I decided to return this fall! I am looking forward to growing my knowledge, and owe it to the wonderful staff at KVCC.
the professors in the programs are absolutely wonderful, they are helpful and really know how to deal with students who are trying to get by to get a degree. as for the financial aid department, worst i’ve ever seen (and i went to orono before this) Jill in the financial aid department is the absolute worst and cannot do anything to help a student. rude and unhelpful to say the least. really hope they can fix this.
I liked how the teachers get involved with the students and always are there to help when you get stuck. My experience with KVCC has been wonderful and I would highly recommend it to other students! Honestly I would have them change anything because the way they run there school system is working perfectly!
I haven't attended yet, so it is hard to tell. I am sure that it will be a fine school, and since they are the only college in this state that offers the program that I am interested in, they will be a great match.
The professors I had and encountered and had class with were excellent! Most were helpful and took the time to explain problems, case, etc. However, the financial department is by far the worst I have ever seen in any business, institution, store or any of the categories. They lose paperwork, lie, horrendous timelines and horrifically rude. I can't put into words how horrendous it really is. They messed my loans up and information so bad that I almost couldn't take classes and the ONLY reason I could is because I had a family friend at the school. They botched not one, not two, BUT THREE loans up and almost prevented me from finishing. Now, somehow they had NO contact information for me when I was going to pay for my last few classes waiting for a bill to come in. I called countless times saying I would get an e-mail or a phone call but they never came and I'd have to call back constantly on a weekly basis.
I have enjoyed the last two years here very much. I have felt accepted, and welcomed the entire time. I would like to see the administration, and advisors reach out more to those students who suffer from confusion of their classes/course needs/etc.
I've only completed my first semester, but I've enjoyed it! It's not fancy, but for the cost it seems like a very good college.
I've been extremely satisfied with everything at KVCC except for the financial aid department. However, to be fair, it is the busy season. Maybe it'll get better.
There is no dorms but is great for any student looking to further their education. I cant answer the return on investment question yet because i have just begun. Student advisors are great. They offer free tutoring and is a friendly campus
