i’m a freshman at JWU & before you apply let me tell you. living on campus is hectic, the RA’s will come and try to get you on conduct probation over anything. watching youtube videos on your phone with the volume a little too loud will cause you to get in trouble so beware (: the food is okay. classes are super easy, professors are nice. but the people that are “higher than you” will make it almost impossible for you to enjoy your time here. TRULY
This school sucks. Greek life is terrible, most sports are terrible, and the school itself is terrible. Academics are an absolute joke and parties are laughable. Would not recommend this school at all. Culinary is a bunch of weirdos and downcity is exclusive. Not worth it
I LIKE THE FACULTY BUT THIS COLLEGE DID NOT HAVE OPPORTUNITIES TI GROW. POOR FACILITIES TO STUDY. NO ORIENTATION IF WE NEED HELP.
Really expensive and ridiculously easy. Most of the professors are really knowledgeable and really helpful. They are regionally accredited. Unfortunately, they are not accredited by any accreditation board. Meaning in majors such as engineering, accounting, and business etc... the degrees are virtually worthless because you can't obtain your licence. As well as, their degrees won't give you a competitive edge in your desired field.
Johnson & Wales is a great school when you are a student but the are terrible when you are not. Do not sign up for their achievement loan it is a private loan and it gets handled differently then federal loans, but if you to to graduate from this school you will learn a lot all the teachers are very helpful.
Johnson & Wales University isn't a school worth pursuing for majors outside of hospitality or culinary. The only good things about the school are professors and athletics. The is all about using you for money and won't give a low income a piece of paper for attending if you owe money after graduation. I regret choosing this school.
I attend Johnson & Wales University Online. The entire program is fast-paced. One thing I would change is cost, it is very expensive.
I felt safe on capuse
I'm not good at social atmosphere
Although there are great organizations who contribute to campus life and community service, there have also been incidents with hazing and sororities and fraternities being shut down.
A lot of people use marijuana. Many get away with it in their dorm rooms.
I would not chose to live here if I did not have to. It is not the worse place I could imagine myself being in but it is not the best place to be either. It seems to me that the cleaning people hired here do not care much for doing their job.
They require students complete one trimester at a job/internship, however the resources to obtain these internships are very scarce. When a student tries to use these resources, the staff bounces them around a lot.
Sports are a total joke at this school, unless you play golf. The golf team is elitist and does not socialize with most of the school, and there is no football. Basketball takes the place of football as the "main sport", however no one really attends the games.
Try and go see the doctor! You will wait a long time, just so they can give you coke syrup for every problem you have. headache? Here is coke syrup. vomiting? Here's some coke syrup. Broke your leg? Here's some ice and coke syrup.
Have a lot of small places over priced, they don't offer a lot of things included. Not worth living off campus if you go to Johnson and Wales.
They dont care if you cant afford the college, they just want their money. They make sure they get you stuck in a bill one way or another
Compared to what I thought about living on campus, and what they showed me when I first looked at the Campus. My expectations were highly disappointing. The cost to live on campus is over 11,000 for 9 months, which is ridiculous. I am happy that I am living off campus so that I don't have to worry about getting another loan.
Nobody cares about the teams here. Usually only soccer but thats because the guys are all hot.
The administration here is okay. The school isn't very strict overall.
