I have taken all of my classes online with Isothermal Community College. The professors have been incredibly understanding and easy to work with. I was pretty surprised to say that college is easy! I am able to work at mostly my own pace online. I am someone who likes to work ahead and most of my professors have allowed me to do so. During the COVID pandemic, ICC modified our schedules to fit with our new needs.
I love taking online classes through this college. I have a full time job, a part time job, a teenage son, 6 pets with various needs and my housework and garden ~ so, doing my schoolwork online when it best fits my schedule is a blessing! You are provided with more than enough resources such as textbook, moodle, openstax, virtual labs, etc to learn everything on the course objectives.
I love the small town feel of this college. I love the ratio of teachers to students - I feel that the teacher quickly learns everyone's names and the students learn who everyone is, so that if you have to get into groups it's not terribly uncomfortable. The teachers are very knowledgeable and I know I am getting an excellent education even though I am not at a big expensive university. I learn easily from most of the teachers I have had there because they explain the material very well and often use visual aids. My favorite classes have been Biology and nursing classes because there is so much hands on work. I have really enjoyed attending this college and appreciate the money I have saved by going to my local community college.
