I moved to Nebraska with the intentions on being a student at Iowa Western Community College and enrolling in the Dental Hygiene program. However, I planned on being in Nebraska for only two years and I did not have the correct prerequisites to begin the two year program. I was eager to begin school and especially dentistry, hence, I got in to the Dental Assistant program. The program was only ten months long. I KNEW I COULD DO IT! I was at the top of my class and received a scholarship from my instructor based on my performance. I was willing to get everything I could out of the program, and in the end, I got something back because of it. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and it made me want to only keep going forward with my education.

Iowa western is a great college for someone who is looking to transfer to a bigger college after finishing school there. The college courses schuelding is kind of difficult, but not as bad as other colleges. They have an incredible learning center, where you can gain access to tutoring programs for just about all courses taught there. However, Iowa western does lack the connection between students with courses you're supposed to be taking. They didn't tell me that I needed to take public speaking till days before registration was over. I barely made it to be able to take it this upcoming semester.
When going to college I though it would be hard and difficult, but Iowa Western changed my mind. The staff here are so helpful its unrealistic! They made sure I was able to participate in the courses I needed to help me graduate! I graduated with my Associates in July and now am prepared to move on to a new school to finish out my bachelors! Would decently recommend for a starter school.
