Iowa western is a great community college. Coming from a city where community colleges only offer classes and no housing, sports, or extra activities around campus, Iowa western is a community college that does it all. Have you ever wanted to go to a University and Enjoy a real college experience without paying a full university price? Well, Iowa Western offers The college experience at the price of a community college! You can live on campus, play a sport, and even participate in Activities hosted around campus!
The professors are awesome and helpful. They all work around the athletics in the school. If you had a game one day and missed class they understood and even if you had a test, they would have you just take it the next day. I left my second year and it was the worst mistake I made. I came back because the academics and athletics were absolutely amazing. Very affordable even if you’re out of state. Right next to Omaha, so if you wanted to go out to a restaurant or see a game it wasn’t very far. The campus recreation center they have is brand new and huge! Has an indoor football field that can be used for all sports. Baseball can hit in there during the winter. There’s four basketball courts and a very nice gym to workout. If you make friends which you will, you’ll love IWCC.
I moved to Nebraska with the intentions on being a student at Iowa Western Community College and enrolling in the Dental Hygiene program. However, I planned on being in Nebraska for only two years and I did not have the correct prerequisites to begin the two year program. I was eager to begin school and especially dentistry, hence, I got in to the Dental Assistant program. The program was only ten months long. I KNEW I COULD DO IT! I was at the top of my class and received a scholarship from my instructor based on my performance. I was willing to get everything I could out of the program, and in the end, I got something back because of it. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and it made me want to only keep going forward with my education.
