While Indiana University-Bloomington does have one of the most beautiful college campuses according to many surveys, this university also has it's downfalls. I will begin by presenting the perks; IU is able to maintain a solid base of students who go on to make a considerable amount of money, and sustain a large amount of students enrolled overall. By having so many students, others are able to socialize more easily, and maybe get into study groups. On the flip side, having so many kids does have it's downsides. These negatives include having too many kids in a classroom, which leads to classroom annoyances. As well, this campus is very big so it is hard to get around. What I would like to see IU change is the amount of students enrolled because of the many hassles that follow it. Overall, IU Bloomington is a great university, and a graduate should feel very accomplished!
My experience at IU has been overwhelmingly positive. I chose a school that has my perfect major, Big 10 sports, and a beautiful campus. It can be intimidating at first to know that you're going to school with 40,000+ other people, but there are so many opportunities to make it feel as small or as big as you want it to. I joined organizations that produced some of my best friends. I also have fallen in love with Bloomington and am hoping to stay here permanently. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better place to attend school. I love it so much I am staying here to get my Masters degree starting in about a week!
I'm not very into varsity sports. Football and basketball are pretty big at IU. Football season is all about the tailgate! Alot of people, myself included just go tailgating and not to the actual game. Basketball at IU is everything. That's the sport we're known for. We have two recreational centers/gyms. The smaller one is older and smaller. The newer one is really nice and have atleast 8 courts that can be used. We also have an indoor and outdoor pool which i've never been to.
