My experience with Horry-Georgetown Technical College when I first enrolled was super easy! The advisors really cared when doing the enrollment; they walk with you every step of they way. The one thing that I would change is they should really be their with you even after the enrollment process. Especially freshmen students!
My major right now is Diagnostic Medical Sonography. I am also currently working on my Associates of Science so the required classes are all medical science related. The prerequisites for the Sonography Program are mostly Biology, Phlebotomy, Anatomy, and Psychology. I only took a few math classes so far I am currently taking my last on right now. All of my teachers are good, they have an interesting way of teaching. But for most of the information of my subjects I would have daily study sessions in order to retain what I learned in class.
Going into the fall will be my third semester at HGTC, I was so nervous starting because I have been out of school for 17 years before I started. I instantly felt at ease when I started the classroom settings and the professors are amazing. All student advisors and financial aid have been extremely helpful and caring. My family really wants me to transfer to a school closer to home but I want to finish out at HGTC because I love the school.
