Having to deal with covid-19 was unexpected. Hinds rose to the occasion. Did not lack anything. The instructors ensured that the students adjusted to this new norm. They made themselves available after hours. They used such tools as zoom to keep in touch. They substituted assignments for in person class time.

The school itself made available avenues to talk to someone if you were feeling overwhelmed because of covid-19. The President kept us abreast of all the changes that were taking place. They put in procedures to keep students and staff safe.

Even though there was no Spring graduation, they gave graduates the opportunity to participate in a future ceremony. They mailed us our diplomas rather than making us wait to receive it at the ceremony at which we decided to walk.

Their concern for our well being is greatly appreciated. Their desire that receive a quality education even after the disruption was satisfied. Hinds is a great place to start your college career.

Yes, I took online classes at Hinds and I still am taking them. The teachers and professors as well as counselors are doing their best at their job to give us education and make sure we learn everything. Even during these hard times, they are doing their best to attend to every student's needs though sometimes it can be overwhelming. I would definitely attend Hinds after I graduate from high school because it will be the best option for me before I attend a four-year college and/ or university. It will provide me with college experiences that would help me at another college. I would love to be a part of Hinds Community family, and I will tell my friends and family about my experiences, so they can be inspired. It offers amazing classes. It will help me save money and prepare for obstacles in my future. I can't wait to attend this college because it's closer to my home, and I will be close to my family that way.
I was a dual enrollment student at Hinds Community college from spring 2019 to summer 2021. The teachers here are really great and understanding. My grandfather died recently and I was unable to submit my work, but the teachers were understanding and allowed me to submit it when I felt better and had the time. They also are very good with mental health awareness and offer counseling services to students in need. Although I never used it, I know that I’m safe and can talk to someone whenever I feel like it. I would totally recommend this college to students.
