Heartland Community College Reviews
Heartland is a very friendly, helping community. My time here has been accounted for and worth while. I am learning more and better here versus at an old university. I plan on continuing my education here because I do see myself successful here. I recommended several friends to attend Heartland because of the great staff and learning environment. I am familiar and comfortable with the campus and professor, which makes everything better for you to learn and grow. I am clear of what classes I need to take to be successful and I have a plan when leaving. All my time at Heartland is valuable due to me knowing the outcomes and what I need to be successful. Also, what I need to become a registered nurse. The staff there has brought my attention to a better understanding on how I will be successful at achieving my goals.
This is an amazing college. The professors care about your success, the classrooms are small (like 15-25 people max), the bookstore has what you need, admissions and the faculty become like family!
At Heartland, you are able to learn from a vast variety of professors who genuinely care about seeing you succeed. Not only do you work with unique teachers, but you also can work with students from all different backgrounds. There are a lot of adult learners at Heartland, and I really enjoyed working with them. It was refreshing to be around people who are mature and have a passion for continuing their education. The counselors are helpful when you're stressed; they offer peer mentors, public events to encourage getting to know new people, and just being there to listen. However, not all of Heartland's counselors have been helpful when it comes to enrollment for new classes. When I was a freshman, I received the best help from them when choosing classes. But as a returning student, they didn't seem motivated to help me at all. That is the only thing I would change about Heartland.
