Great college! I liked how convenient the campus was to navigate. The campus also has new buildings, like the Science Building which is very modern and the Student Center that has a calm atmosphere to it. Just walk into any of these buildings and get to studying, eating, or just hanging out with fellow students. The library is great with a great accessibility to computers to use, books, and textbooks to rent. Overall the campus is great and there's a wide variety of help at the Admissions and Records office as well. Overall, it was a great decision to choose this community college because of the proximity to home and the grants they offered me and other students for affordable college tuition.
When the online classes started, it was a bit of a struggle to get use to it. Lucky most of my teacher know how to give a proper online lecture, making it easy for the students and for me to understand without getting lost or confused. However, some instructor did struggle as well as the students to understand online classes, but that did not hold them back from teaching us the subject. That made me happy because that tried their hardest to still teach and make sure that we are not lost or confused. Even though I would like to return to in-person lectures, online class will have to do but at least they are not an awful experience.
My overall experience at Hartnell has been primarily beneficial. Coming to this school has really jumpstarted my academic career and made me feel like I needed to be in school. Some of the professors I have had over the past few semesters have been unforgettable, and they have taught me the value in authenticity and curiosity. One of the main things I would like to see changed is the image of the "community college." I think when students and teachers see this title, they do not tend to put their all into their learning or teaching. When people do half of a job it really shows, but it also highlights the strengths of the dedicated students and teachers that are here.
