I've had a wonderful time and amazing opportunities through Hartnell. I'm currently in a computer science bachelor's degree program funded by them and CSUMB, in which I get to be a part of a cohort. I've managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout the past 3 years. I founded and was president of the current computer science club there, in which the members, officers, and I participated in and held community service activities. It's truly been a blast!

Graduating high school not knowing what career path or how one can afford higher education is very discouraging. Luckily, Hartnell College has an unimaginable acceptance rate; almost anyone can be accepted into this community college. Hartnell is a small campus with a variety of courses to take from music to weight training to psychology. If a student wants to save a couple thousand dollars trying to figure out what major he or she wants to study, then this two year college will be the perfect place to save money; as well as take general education classes and earn an associates degree. The pros of attending this college are saving money and learning in a normal classroom environment; whereas, the cons are some professors are very unorganized and there is almost no school spirit.
What I like about Hartnell College is that the faculty can make you feel very welcome and most of them truly wish the best for you. Also, Hartnell offers many resources which aid in the saving of your financial aid. On top of that, there are a fair amount of programs that help students get a head start on specific courses such as math, english, and chemistry.

Overall, Hartnell College is a hidden gem. It contains a number of resources which will greatly benefit students and help them get to where they want to be academically.
