I heard good and bad things about this school before I started. I had a hard time contacting someone within the school. I sent several emails and called numerous times. I had to physically go down to the college before I could get someone to help me with the things I needed. Ms.Tracy helped me on the initial visit but she was no longer of any help after the first visit. No, I wasn't done with Admissions but I had to pretty much keep going down to the school until I could get some help. Financial aid was a mess and I had a bad experience with them as well. The Registrar Ms McBride is the Dean and was very unprofessional and non responsive to the emails and calls that I sent to her as well. Getting started with this school is like pulling teeth! When it was time to enroll in class it was very easy. My professors were very nice and helpful. The student portal was easy to use and classes were pretty good. My professors are the reason why I keep enrolling within this college.
I was student at Trenholm State Community College who majored in Office Administration (now Business Administration). I was not happy with my experience. I liked all of my general education teachers. I only liked Mr. Chandrasoma for my degree classes. He was the nicest male teacher I had there. Financial Aid at the Trenholm campus was always a mess and messing up my Finanical aid. The Patterson campus Finanical Aid was amazing. Admissions was okay, but not the greatest. The Disability Center (Mr. Calloway) was good. He helped me when I needed accommodations or had problems with teachers. After I graduated and went to a university, they still had access to my Pell Grant (I removed them from FASFA). A Finanical Aid lady told me it was my fault and was blaming me, but she admitted that there was a mistake on her end. It even took eight months just to get my diploma. I received my short term certificate long before my associate degree. Overall, I would not recommend Trenholm to people.
I started Trenholm aroumd August 2016, I started with General education class, then I got accepted into the LPN nursing program which I started in January 2017-August of 2018. I enjoyed the experience, the only thing I disliked was the school did not have enough instructors. For one of my nursing class, I did not have an instructor for about 2 months, then we finally received an instructor. Other then that, most of my instructors taught well and were helpful throughout my school journey. I am currently a returning student at Trenholm for Summer semester of 2021 and currently enrolled in online/virtual classes.
