I graduated in 2010. Looking back, my time at GVSU is remembered fondly and the experience gained was valuable. Nine out of 10 teachers what a great, easy to work with, put in the effort, and made themselves available. The campus is beautiful! Their athletic program is great (untraditional experience with wrestling and football). The social scene is acceptable considering it is frowned upon by the University. I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, back in my day there wasn’t many sidewalks so walking from “study session” to “study session” was poor. Assistance with classes or topics (tutoring) what is easily accessible and substantially destigmatized. Like with any university, you get what you put in.
I remain very happy with my choice to attend.

Grand Valley State University has helped shape me into a better and more educated citizen of the United States. My class experience has been amazing and even more, my professors were nothing but supportive in my academic career. The professors I have had took time out of their personal schedule to meet with me and discuss any possible confusion I had over content areas. As far as campus atmosphere, there is nothing that compares. The positive energy that radiates from the university is undeniable. The beautiful landscape and the friendly faces make it almost impossible not to fall in love with attending GVSU. Go Lakers!
My experience at Grand Valley State University was really good! I am an exercise science major and the faculty in the movement science department is phenomenal! I feel very lucky to have the experience that I have had at GVSU. My hopes are that other students get to experience as many great professors as I have. I have also found it quite easy to get ahold of various different resources. such as the library, recreation center, career center, student advising, and the financial aid office. I think one way my experience could have been enhanced at GVSU would be if my major consisted of more hands on experience. I wish the classes were more geared towards fitness programing, instead I took one class on it. Additionally, I think it would have been beneficial to have some classes within the recreation center. I think this would've allowed us to experience things in an exercise related environment.
