Golden West College Reviews
Golden West tried to make everything as easy as they could for me. They have an abundance of resources and lots of great professors! I’ve taken classes both on campus and online and have had success in my academic career thus far. I know lots of people who have gone to other jc’s and have gotten bad professors or end up in classes with tons of tests and homework. In some cases that’s what people are looking for but for those of us who just want to get through school as fast as possible, Gwc is a good bet. I was able to get all of the classes I needed and most of the professors that I wanted. Some of their facilities could use some updating but that goes for most schools. The cafeteria is alright. Let me put it this way, I wasn’t going out of my way to go buy food from there but I wouldn’t mind if I had to get something. The campus patrol are always driving around on campus and throughout the parking lots. Overall safe campus.
I am a student athlete at Golden West College and the school is in full support of me and my teammates. From the facilities to the athlete tutoring assistance to the athletic staffing: the experience has been great! The campus is clean, the teachers are nice and approachable, the the athletic department specifically is filled with great people from the coaches to the administrative staff. I feel like they really care about their athletes and it's made my experience here a great one!
Of the three Coast Community Colleges that I attended, Golden West is the best in the district! The programs seem to be, if not better financed, more aggressively structured, allowing the student to never feel the pains of an outdated class. Additionally, the campus has the best combination of architecture and nature that I've seen in the district. Climbing vines surround the quad and cafeteria, every building is lined with trees, and there's a wonderful (and often empty) garden, with more than one walking path!
