Campus Resources are great! The inter-library lending program and online library make it easy to conduct research. The campus itself is smaller, lending to a more "community" environment. Campus clubs and organizations hold fundraisers and drives for various community needs (eg. Jelly Jam drive to support local food pantries, Operation Warm participation to help needy children obtain winter coats) and host a variety of treats and activities throughout the month.
Review Globe University - La Crosse
The academics were just okay. There were a number of things that I would like to have learned as a student that were either glossed over or not even touched on that I encountered on my externship. The externship program was awesome. We students were required to fill 270 hours of coursework at a veterinary clinic getting real-world hands-on experience in a clinical environment. I would have liked to spend more time covering the nutrition aspects of the curriculum during our Nutrition/Nursing Skills course, but it was 70% nursing/30% nutrition. And all we did was discuss the basics. We didn't even get into any real-world applications.
Carolyn Moe was an amazing coordinator. She kept on top of all of the available openings for all of the programs she was responsible for, including veterinary technology. She is my go-to gal for whenever I need assistance in updating my resume or a field-specific job hunt. She was incredible when it came to preparing for interviews and submitting applications, and even proper interview wardrobe advice. She really knows what it takes to succeed, and she dedicates herself to every student in the programs she's responsible for.
