Germanna helped me transition to college and plan my future where my high school couldn't. This institution has bountiful resources to help students apply, find scholarships, study, learn a vocational skill, and even offers part-time jobs that are flexible to the student's schedule. Various events and club activities are hosted every weekday with chances to earn financial aid or apply for a local job position. There is a large selection of classes on multiple campuses or online to choose from. The professors are very qualified and care about each student's outcome. This institution is a wealth of knowledge and resources to help anyone reach their goals.
I have completed my first semester at Germanna Community College (completely online) and I am very grateful to have chosen this school. All of my professors were polite, and ready to help us students (within reasonable time). Their expectations and directions were very clear and the deadline to complete our assignments were greatly synced with the amount of time needed to finish said assignments. The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is a great tool and I am glad it was there as I needed help for an ITE class and I recieved amazing assistance. I also received great assistance when enrolling and before I officially attended GCC, everyone I came across was extremely helpful. They also hold informative workshops ranging from Google Suite to Work Studies. There are also opportunities to attend events on campus (depending on which one). Overall, my experience has been 10/10.
Germanna is a caring and involved community college. They do everything possible to make sure your transition after college is as seamless as possible. There are different resources, such as "Germanna Cares" or "ACE Tutoring" that are available free of charge. The different options and class flexibility really helped me in my first semester of school. The professors are very nice, although I would advise looking them up before hand to make sure their teaching style would fit you well. Overall, a nice school with a decent amount of extra curricular and beneficial tools for a community college.
