Flagler College is an amazing place to prepare to be a teacher. Schools want to hire you immediately after you graduate, because they know that students who graduate from Flagler are well prepared to be teachers. It is a lot of work, but having started teaching now, I’m really glad that I had all of the training that I did.
I am in my first semester at Flagler College - Tallahassee. So far: my experience has been amazing! Everyone has been very welcoming and helpful. I feel like I matter here and I have a good feeling about my future.
I absolutely love the small classes! We are a cohort that goes through the course together from beginning to end. This can have its ups and downs, as any relationship does. But through our differences we push each other to do and be better not just in school but in life. There is familiarity and camaraderie among the 15, but there is also frustration and irritability when they do not hold up their end of the group project assignment. It is, as with all relationships, a fine balance.
