I finally completed my Bachelor's Degree at Excelsior after many years away from school. I am totally satisfied with my experience at Excelsior. The professors were truly excellent, the curriculum was rigorous and engaging. My fellow online classmates were also very collaborative and engaged. I would get my Master's at Excelsior if they offered a graduate program of interest. Overall from start to finish, great experience!

The rating is based upon my experience as a student in the LPN to RN bridge ADN program. Excelsior College does not tell the truth regarding its "actual" graduation / pass rates of students in their Associate's Degree RN program. You will get no real assistance from the nursing faculty.
You will pay $2300 for their CPNE exam at the end of the program and wait a year or more to test. The majority of students will fail this exam. You will have to pay another $2300 and wait another year to retake the CPNE.
The exam is very subjective, not objective. My honest advice would be to stay far away from an institution which places value on profit vs providing a legitimate program with much if any likelihood of graduation. There are legitimate reasons why Excelsior College is in the midst of a second class action lawsuit. Run far and fast away from this so called college.
My experience has been wonderful. I think the School of Liberal Arts is very engaged. The School of Nursing seems to struggle a bit on the reviews but for me, my experience has been amazing. I finished my Associate's in Liberal Studies in 2009 and I am finishing my Bachelor's in December 2018. My advisor is very engaged and helpful. My instructors have been some of the best instructors I have ever had. My classes have been challenging and certainly every bit as intense as brick and mortar classes. Online education is not for everyone. One should try an online class first at community college to see if it for you. It does take a while to get your rhythm but once you figure it out, it is the best thing you will ever do. It is nice that Excelsior has all the perks it does. The Career Center and the online library is by far the most powerful two tools an online college can offer.
