Estrella Mountain Community College Reviews
Talk about a great school! Estrella Mountain Community College in Avondale, Arizona is one of the most unique and diverse schools in the state. The student body is made up of a wide range of people, from elementary school-age children taking summer entertainment and education classes, to teenagers who have just graduated high school, to adult learners like myself who are finally finishing the degree they started so many years ago. There is also the Southwest Skill Center, located on the school's campus, which offers a wide variety of certification-based educational programs, primarily in the medical field. The best part of the school is the cost. Like the other community colleges in Arizona, the tuition per credit hour is $85, significantly lower than those found at most of the fourfour-year universities in the state. I love this school, and I plan on attending as many classes as I possibly can, for as long as I possibly can.
I absolutely love this college. The campus is beautiful, and well managed. Estrella Mountain Community College is more than a school for me, it's like a second home. I spend much of my time here, and the staff is always friendly! Most of the professors here like to get to know you as a person, and are always willing to help. Of course, there are always things that can be improved, such as more options for school food. Most of the time the same kinds of foods are offered everyday. However, that doesn't mean it isn't good! The meals are still fresh and amazing. I'd give 4 and a half stars if it were an option! Also, this school is very affordable, which is very nice.
From my experience this is a good place to start building your education towards your future. I have gotten some remarks from others that go to a 4 year university asking if it is easier at a community college, and I’ve told them just because it’s a community college doesn’t mean the classes are watered down. The professors I have met want to give you the college experience of a university level or greater, and have the background and teaching experience to prove it. Two instructors that I personally recommend are Professor Eckert for computer science and Dwain Desbien for physics, because they definitely give you the learning experience at a university level. There are even free tutoring sessions on campus to help you with almost any subject. The safety of the students is taken care of with the upmost importance, so that we can learn in peace.
