I appreciate the amiable and equally considerable environment Oxford promotes on its campus. I can't remember a time where a first-year, second-year, or faculty member didn't help me out regarding course scheduling, finding locations, or simply acting as an open ear to my worries. The campus seems a bit disorganized concerning add/drop/swap right now (much of it starts during classes, which can disadvantage students who wish to take other courses or add on to their schedules), but I assume that is because we're in orientation. Aside from that, I have no problems-- Oxford's starting to feel a little more like home.
The combination of second rate professors, ancient dorms, overly challenging courses that lack any actual learning and the remote location make this college perfect for any suicidal lone wolfs who receive their pleasure from near torture. The only reason that this college does not receive one star is the surprising quality of its support staff who recognize the challenges students face from their mostly terrible educators. There are some great professors but most are lacking in either experience or skill. The dorms are so outdated that 70+ students share 2 washers and dryer’s the dorms are also prone to flooding from corroded water pipes. The dining hall is one of the worst experiences on campus with very few options and middle school level food. Combining all that with aging facilities, a tiny gym, and overselling parking passes to the point where it’s almost impossible to park anywhere makes this school a community college with a Harvard price tag.
I have met the most amazing people and have had the opportunity to take classes I'm genuinely interested in. The only con is the clear divide between the Oxford campus and the Atlanta campus. Certain policies don't apply to both campuses which can be frustrating at times, but is just the way the systems are set up. Overall I really do love it!
