Eastern has great academics and many resources if you take advantage. There is always something to be part of and many leadership opportunities. Unfortunately, it’s not that diverse. It is a PWI after all. The location is not the best though. There’s only a few restaurants from walking distance and not much to do aside from on campus events. the dorms are beautiful though! They are apartment styled, so it does prepare you for that next step into adulthood. As for social life, it is a very clique school. Many people know each other from HighSchool and keep to themselves, so it almost feels like HighSchool part two unfortunately. I believe everyone is very shy and keeps to them selves, so you will definitely have to come out your bubble if you want to make friends . The weekends are super lonely as everyone always goes home, which defeats the purpose of college! Overall, your eastern experience will be what you decide to make it! Make a solid friend group and you’ll have a great time
I am a transfer student at Eastern Connecticut University. I transferred about one semester ago and now have been at ECSU since January 2022. My experience has been nothing but great. The students, faculty, and professors are all welcoming and the university has a lot of known to share. In my short time at Eastern I have enrolled in great classes such as Microbiology, Genetics, and next semester I will tackle Anatomy and Physiology one. I am grateful to be apart of this talented University and excited to continue my journey until graduation!
Eastern is a great little school! The SACSW department is full of friendly and knowledgeable professors that want the best for their students. The Campus Activity Board tries to keep the students entertained with fun activities all year long, and a lot of them can be enjoyable!
