My overall experience at ELAC so far have been for the most part positive. I am currently a second year student at ELAC. My first year was definitely an eye opener and a learning experience. At first I was scared. But after a conference with a counselor, it was suggested to contact professor Artin Davidian of the engineering department at ELAC. Professor Davidian was able to advise me through my first year at ELAC and enlighten me about the field of engineering. Then I’ve been able to connect with other ELAC faculty. They have advised me along my ongoing journey to transfer. But aside from ELAC Faculty. As well have some great prerequisite classes for higher levels. For example trigonometry is only offered with support. Meaning that professors review background knowledge from algebra or geometry before introducing trigonometry lessons that require this background knowledge. Demonstrating ELAC’s prep work for students ensuring for students to reach high standards in their coursework.

There are a total of three plazas around the school that has food and other necessities. If you are an in-state student, your tuition most likely will be covered by your FAFSA, grants, and any other scholarships. However, out-of-state students, it is expensive! There are no dorms. There are many resources around the campus to help you if you do struggle academically. If you are a student-athlete looking into this school, you are in good hands. The counselors are extremely helpful.

I like how they offer a lot of help with any problem you have as well as offer many workshops, tutoring, and study sessions. I enjoy how connected you feel with your counselors and I also enjoy the EOPS and College Promise programs. They are very helpful with any problem you have and the staff there are very sweet and caring. The library is a very calm place to go study I really enjoy how neat the environment is and is kept that way by the students. The professors are very understanding too, they will help you out with any problem that you are struggling with. Professors have very good office hours and many of them are willing to schedule a day to help you understand better. The FAFSA office is very helpful as well, they give you recommendations and inform you more about the requirements for FAFSA. East Los Angeles College is a very good school with many helpful resources. Overall this college can help many students be encouraged, happy, and successful on their first year of college.
