Well, here we are, at the end of the semester and, it has actually been overall very eventful and surprisingly better than expected. I got to meet lots of different and unique people, learned lots of new things and got to experience and live the start of my college experience. My first semester of my freshman year has already definitely made an impression on myself. Entering college has given me a reality check on who I am and where I want to be in the future.
After surviving almost a full semester, I can proudly say that I am confident in myself and what I’ve accomplished thus far. I think DVC did what it’s supposed to do for every new student. It took me out of my comfort zone and taught me about new ways of life without making others and I feel like we have to change our existing ways of living. So in other words, good job DVC!

The school is starting to spend a lot of money on the campus, building a new quad area, as well as a new Student Services building and cafeteria with a full commercial kitchen for hands on oppurtunities in the culinary arts programs. Most of the instructors are very pleasant and deicated to student success; however there are a few bad apples that simply spew information every lecture then issue an exam without any conversational learning. The school has more resources than a student could ever need! DVC offers free tutoring to any student in most subjects, free sessions with counselors who are usually helpful, and many other resources for both education and self-growth. Overall, DVC is a great school to get a great education at a discounted cost whether you are transferring or going back to school to get a certificate.
What I enjoyed about my experience at Diablo Valley College was its diverse community of students from all over the world. In addition, the counseling services that were provided for students really helped me in planning and completing my courses. The construction and parking could definitely be improved for the safety and benefit of the students. Although there are many parking lots available, many students still struggle to find parking especially during peak hours from 9:30 am to about noon. The first week of each semester is also very hectic as people struggle to find parking due to the overflow lot being full.
