I transferred to Delgado from a bigger four-year college and realized that I wish I would've came to Delgado sooner. Delgado is a better fit for me because I can go to school and do online classes all while still being able to live at home and work for my money. The professors really want you to learn and succeed. The only thing that I would change would be making it easier to get in touch quickly with the faculty at the school. Not many answer emails or phone calls until days after, which I wish wasn't the case in times of stress dealing with scheduling and financial aid. Overall, Delgado is a good college and I would recommend it to others!
My overall experience with Delgado is definitely a welcomed-challenging feeling. I liked the fact that the teachers are down to the same level as students. They're all understandable and they're on us all the time because we are the new leaders. What I would like to see is more into depth understanding. Yes, it's the student's responsibility to be caught up with work. However, they aren't AS understanding with certain situations. So I would like to see a little more concern and enthusiasm.
My overall experience in Delgado is a 4/5, it is not a 5/5 because I have yet to finish. Aside from that, the staff is rather friendly and helpful, they seem to have your best interest at heart. The teachers are pretty nice but knowledgeable on their subject. My first counselor helped me through my first semester then disappeared, I struggled with my classes, but luckily I had a teacher who would care for her students. She would help me find another counselor and arrange a meeting between us. Delgado overall as just a community college offers a whole lot, you never know what you might find at a community college.
